Over the years, there have been committed men and women, who have shared their resources and talents to perpetuate Father Baker's mission of selfless love and service. One such shining example of this commitment was Msgr. Robert C. Wurtz who - following in the footsteps of our founder, Father Baker, - served as pastor of OLV National Shrine & Basilica and Administrator of OLV organizations for more than 32 years. Like Father Baker, Msgr. Wurtz, throughout his priestly ministry at OLV, oversaw the care of tens of thousands of children, families, and pilgrims in need.
